5. Responsibilities
Participants need to exercise self-responsibility, sound decision-making and appreciate the inherent risks presented by the activities in the event.
It's not a race or for the faint hearted - it is designed to be the longest, hardest, most gruelling and uncomfortable test of endurance on a lawn mower to raise money and awareness for the chosen charities.
Risks are increased in the Mowsworth Rampage by hazards such as fatigue, equipment selection, weather (cloud cover, sun glare, temperature, wind, rain and snow), participants health and skill levels, noise levels, insects and wildlife, other road users, road works, road surface conditions and unfamiliarity with the course.
Incidents can happen anywhere and at any time and our safety procedures reflect this. We are continually reviewing our systems, as there are always things to learn, but we are confident our procedures are robust. However, if you identify a hazard, either in the lead up to, or during the Mowsworth Rampage , please inform the organisers immediately.
Event changes may be made after you register, so it is important to keep up-to-date with all information provided on our website.
6. Fees and Payments
You agree that:
- The entry fee for the event, as stated on the event page, is due on completion and submission of the entry form.
- In the occasion of the event being transferred to a new format, entry fees will be moved over accordingly.
- In the event of a cancellation, the Cancer Society will offer to refund your registration fees. However, your fundraising gifts will be applied to the Cancer Society’s & Hospice’s supportive care services and are non-refundable.
7. Event Cancellation - Weather
We will ride in pretty much any weather condition providing the road remains open (so be prepared!), however if the event organisers feel that the weather is extreme, and may put riders at risk, the ride may be cancelled prior to leaving Molesworth. Should this happen, the organisers will email or SMS all registered riders with the event cancellation and announce it on our Facebook and website home pages. We will endeavour to give as much notice as possible. Please note that any registration fees paid, and donations are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation or change in route as many of the event costs will still be incurred.
If the weather becomes nasty while on the road, the event will be put on-hold until the weather clears. This is where your support vehicles come into play. If necessary, you will need to load the bikes to your support trailer and travel by car to the next stop (or shelter until the weather improves).
8. Refund Policy
Entries are non-refundable and not transferable to other people. In the event of a cancellation, the event will offer to refund your registration fees. However, your fundraising gifts will be applied to the Cancer Society & Hospice’s supportive care services and are non-refundable.
